Toward Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

The quality of our lives depends on what we learn to notice and love.So much of modern life scatters our attention and thins our affections. I want to practice another way: attending reverently to what is real, loving deeply what is worthy of love, and responding with imaginative care. This is a place for exploring what this noticing, loving, and tending looks like in ordinary life: in people and places, bodies and systems, work and craft, beauty and belonging. and for cultivating more flourishing along the way.

About Me

I'm Zachary Rethorn.I believe I'm made to cultivate flourishing in people and systems through reverent attention, deep affection, and imaginative care.I’ve never found that calling confined to one kind of work. It shows up when I’m helping someone heal, teaching and writing, making something with my hands, studying how a system shapes human lives, lingering over a painting or poem, cooking for people I love, or learning to inhabit a place more fully.I’m interested in what becomes possible when we pay close attention to what is here, learn to love it well, and take responsibility for its flourishing.Read more about this project's mission statement.
